EMDR UK therapists needed for new research project

Dear all,

Are you an EMDR therapist working online with clients with complex trauma histories? Would you like to support more research into online EMDR for this client group?

In collaboration with the East Anglia EMDR Regional Group, The University of the West of England (UWE) are running a new research study into online EMDR with client presentations involving attachment-informed complexity. This project is funded by EMDR UK.

We are looking for a small cohort of experienced, confident, and enthusiastic EMDR therapists, working in private practice and willing to work with clients over a period of at least 10 sessions. Clients will be randomly allocated by UWE and at a (relatively modest) subsidised fee.

Starting this spring (2023), therapists taking part will be coached and briefed appropriately, and then invited for free group supervision sessions at regular intervals during the project, as well as being asked to fill in (not-too-onerous) weekly forms capturing their clients’ progress.

If you would like further information about this research or would like to sign up, please visit the link below and fill in your details at:

This is a great opportunity to learn more about the research process, and to work closely with a university research team. Please help us to grow the literature around online EMDR for this important client group.

Any questions, please email us at abbi.mathews@uwe.ac.uk

We look forward to hearing from you!
